As a libre software fan since the 3JRSL (back in 2002), I’ve been thinking for a very very *very* long time about performing an ITP for Debian. Well… I finally did it! My first ITP! Way!
So… what did I choose to package? Well, as I didn’t want to package a program, I decided to start with some documentation.
“Documentation” can mean many things, and Debian has lots of it. So, I wondered: “What kind of documentation would be useful for Debian?”. That’s when I remembered had read some RFH regarding Spanish translations of Debian Documentation from the then DPL Sam Hocevar (RFH?) …And, given that my native language is Spanish (remember: I’m from San Juan, Argentina), I chose to start the Spanish translation of the Debian Developer’s Reference.
I don’t know how much time this will take, but I’m convinced to do it. After all, I want to become a DD some day, right?
